SILVERDALE SMILES Six-year-olds Rachel Willms of Wellandport and Dawnelle Schellenberg of Beamsville had a great time hanging out at the Silverdale Hall's playground on Friday, May 9. The Silverdale community organized a barbecue including tasty hot dogs, chicken breasts and all the trimmings.

Westlane Grade 11 student Steve Greenwood leads high school and elementary school students from City Hall last Friday, during the fifth annual DSBN Cares Walk for the Stephen Lewis Foundation. About 400 students took part in the walk, raising about $1,300.
BLOSSOM RIDE The Puddicombe Estate Farms and Winery train was on the tracks again on Saturday, May 10. Passengers were treated to a ride full of spring blossoms.
ANNUAL FERTILIZER SALE The West Lincoln Kin Club held its annual fertilizer sale on May 2 at the Smithville Garage. Kin Club volunteering their time that day included, from left: Vesta Kleinendorst, Lou Fluit, Cathy Doherty, Arie Kleinendorst, Tom McLachlan, Cheryl Dell and Joanne McLachlan. The event raised more than $500.
