On Jan. 1 Jack McDowell suffered a heart attack. With a two-minute drive to Port Colborne General Hospital, McDowell received immediate care and no permanent damage to his heart.

BALLERINA BOW Al Pollock was the funnest dad at the Grimsby Public Library July 26, when the summer reading club got a visit from Kristi Heath. She put him to work as a ballerina.
WINNING DUCKS Out of 3,000 ducks, Jane Danch-Roy (front left) and Larry Keighan (front right) had the fastest. The two duck holders were the winners of the 13th annual Showboat Festival Theatre duck race. Danch-Roy finished second (a $500 gift certificate from Canadian Tire) while the grand prize of $2,500 went to Keighan.
