Steve Gill and John Crowley taste one slice after another during the apple pie baking competition at the Niagara Food Festival last weekend. Gill and Crowley, members of the male chef group Les Marmiton, were judges of the competition, evaluating entries for flavour, crust, appearance and creativity. Winners were first place Chris Pawluk, followed by Shannon Grant and Jamie-Lyn Gillingham. In the kids division the order was Claire Grenier, Dennis Scherle and Shauna Gillingham.
