Fireworks in Falls, Welland this weekend

Fireworks fans will have plenty of action in the sky this weekend.

In Niagara Falls, the Niagara Parks Commission's fireworks series begins tonight.

Along with the pyrotechnics, the illumination stage across from the Falls at Queen Victoria Park is home to free concerts at 8 p.m. Fireworks start at 10 p.m.

The parks commission will light up the skies every Friday, Sunday and holiday from May 16 to Aug. 31. Bonus shows (fireworks only) have been added for every Wednesday in July and August and for every Friday from Sept. 5 - Oct. 10.

In Welland, Monday night at the Niagara Regional Exhibition Grounds, fireworks are planned to mark Victoria Day.
