Six Lincoln Leaper rope skipping team athletes competed at the American Athletic Union (AAU) Junior Olympic National Championships in Detroit, Michigan. There were 540 athletes from all over the US, Australia, Canada, and Singapore competing in the event.

Colleen Chapman received a silver medal overall in the individual category at the AAU Junior Olympics in the 13-14 year old category. She placed first in power, fourth in speed and a eighth in freestyle to capture the overall silver crown.

Colleen Chapman and Paige Hutchings paired to win a gold at the AAU US Junior Olympics in the 13-14 year old category. They placed third in power, third in speed and fourth in freestyle to receive the overall gold medal for Canada.

Megan Greena had a second-place finish in the 10 year old age division in the power event.

The AAU Junior Olympic Games are known as the largest national multi-sport event for youth in the United States. The AAU is one of the largest, non-profit, volunteer sports organizations in the country and is dedicated exclusively to the promotion and development of amateur sports and physical fitness programs.
