Two programs are being offered this fall through Niagara College to help employ more people in the region's large tourism and hospitality industry.
The professional restaurant server and etiquette certificate program teaches students the art of serving guests through proper plate, glassware and tray handling, up-selling techniques, guest satisfaction, wine service, professionalism and more.
The program is being taught at Niagara College's Maid-of-the-Mist campus, Oct. 14-Nov. 7, from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. No experience is required.
The other program offers a professional banquet server certificate and teaches students how to serve large groups of guests at conferences, special events, festivals, restaurants, wineries, weddings and other catered functions.
This program takes place from Nov. 17-Dec. 5, 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Quality Hotel and Conference Centre in St. Catharines. There are no prerequisites.
