Fire at industrial site extinguished quickly

Firefighters responded to a fire at Trensept Automation on Vine Street around 3:30 p.m. Friday after residual tire shavings from a now closed tire recycling facility caught fire. Workers were tearing apart a section of floor when a spark landed on the rubber. Fire chief Mark Mehlenbacher said the fire was out "very quickly" and firefighters were just checking for hot spots.
