Meridian Credit Union has been named one of Canada's top 100 employers by Maclean's magazine.

Sean Jackson, president and CEO of Meridian, said the company is delighted to be recognized and the employees have helped make Meridian the organization it is today.

Now in its ninth year, Canada's Top 100 Employers is an annual competition that recognizes Canada's best places to work by identifying companies and organizations that lead their industry in attracting and retaining employees.

Since its start in 2005, Meridian has introduced a number of employee-driven initiatives, which include days off with paid leave, employee recognition and engagement programs and a Good Neighbour Program.

Meridian is Ontario's largest credit union serving more than 215,000 personal and commercial members across south-central Ontario.

The company has 44 branches and eight commercial banking centres. The company has committed to investing four per cent of its pre-tax earnings in our communities, about four times the national average for corporate giving.
