With continual support from the community, Lincoln's Canada Day celebration was another success.
More than 5,000 people attended the event, which is in its eighth year at Charles Daley Park.
"Last night was so packed you couldn't even move," Judy Pease, Lincoln's director of community services, said in a phone interview on Wednesday.
Pease said the event wouldn't be possible without the support of local volunteers. About 100 volunteers from several community organizations assisted with the celebration.
"Many thanks to all of them, and especially the Beamsville Scouts," said Pease.
The Beamsville Scouts worked about 13 hours, coordinating parking and cleaning up, said Pease.
At the event, children were able rock climb, play tennis, jump on the inflatable bouncers, look at a fire truck and play soccer with Lincoln Soccer Club members.
Pease said the performance of this year's feature band Undone, a Guess Who tribute band, was excellent. "People are already asking me if they're going to come back next year," she said.
At the end of the night, Garden City Display Fireworks treated attendees to an 11-minute firework display.
The fireworks were coordinated with Christmas music for this years fireworks' theme "Christmas in July."
