Car crashes through store front

A car driven by a 16-year-old Thorold girl crashed into the front of the Dollar Mart store in Pine Plaza last Saturday.

Niagara Police said at around 4:30 p.m. that day, a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by the teen went up and over the curb and crashed through the front of the Dollar Mart store.

The driver received only minor injuries that did not require medical treatment. The two other passengers in the vehicle were not injured nor were any customers or employees in the Dollar Mart.

The vehicle sustained about $2,000 in damage, while the storefront suffered $3,000 in damage.

Driver error played a key role in the collision and investigation revealed that alcohol or drugs were not involved.

No charges were laid.
