JUNE 14

 

  • 3RD ANNUAL AUTOMOTIVE, ANTIQUE AND GENERAL FLEA MARKET 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Learn Heritage Farm, 1957 Wilhelm Rd., Sherkston.

     

  • GRAND OLE OPRY TRIBUTE at the Friends Over 55 Social Club. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. at 554 Fielden Avenue, Port Colborne. Tickets are 2 for $25 or $15 each at the door, call for more ticket information: 905-835-1731.

    JUNE 15

     

  • ANNUAL MEMORIAL SERVICE at Zion Cemetery. Wainfleet and Dunnville Firefighters will lay memorial wreaths. 2 p.m. Winger Church of Christ will conduct the service. Please bring a lawn chair. In the event of rain the service will held inside the church.

  • STRAWBERRY SOCIAL with the Friends Over 55 Social Club annual from 2 to 4 p.m. At our Centre at 554 Fielden Avenue, Port Colborne. Serving Strawberry Short Cake, coffee or tea, also available Crafts, Bake Table, Afghan Draws, etc.. call the centre for more information: 905-835-17

  • ANNUAL FLOWER SHOW showcases the beautiful flowers in Port Colborne Horticultural Society members's gardens. Come out and see the beauty of the flowers and enjoy a cup of tea/coffee and cookies1 -3 p.m. The cost of the Tea is $2. Members only can participate in the flower competition.

     

  • GARAGE SALE at First Presbyterian Church 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Treasures for everyone. Come and browse.

    JUNE 28

     

  • SMALLMOUTH BASS FISHING DERBY, hosted by the Outdoor Adventuremnt for Christ, followed by a bbq supper and awarding of prizes. Entry fee $30 per person (includes dinner), tickets must be purcahsed by midnight June 27. Weigh in at 4 p.m. More information call Stan 905-988-5017.

  • BUS TRIPS join Friends Over 55 for some fun, on one of our Bus Trips. We have trips going on throughout the year, they are open to members, friends, family and those interested in joining us.   • GROOVIN' ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON at H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the bandshell. Open mic and program with local talent. June 8 and 15, July 16 and 20. August dates are to be announced.

  • INFANT MASSAGE PROGRAM this program is for infants, not yet moving independently, and their parent/caregiver. These afternoon sessions are offered from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

  • TIP TOE THROUGH THE TULIPS, Play & Learn - Interactive Toddler Program June 18 and 23 from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m., for toddlers aged 12 months to 30 months and their parent/caregiver. Preschool Program rund June 19 and 26 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and is open to children aged 2 to 6 and thier parent/caregiver Call 905-834-9071 to register.

  • YEAR END FIELD TRIP AT H.H. KNOLL PARK in Port Colborne on from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. This event is for children and their parent/caregiver.

  • DROP-IN SESSIONS at Ontario Early Years Centre Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9-12 and 1-4 and Friday from 9-12. These programs are for children ages birth to six years and their parent/caregiver.

  • PROGRESSIVE EUCHRE TOURNAMENT at the Wainfleet Township Public Library at 2:00 p.m., co-sponsored by the Wainfleet Seniors' Group. Open to all adults. Entry fee of $1 per person. Please call 905-899-1277 to pre-register as space is limited to 32 participants. Prizes awarded for the best, worst and more!

  • ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BABYSITTING COURSE at the Wainfleet Township Public Library from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for youths ages 11 and up. Cost: $45 per student. (Cash only, in advance.) Please call 905-899-1277 to pre-register as space in limited. Participants must bring a lunch, a pen or pencil, and a doll or teddy bear to use as a baby during the practice session.

  • MOVE THAT MOUSE! AN INTRODUCTION TO THE INTERNET at the Wainfleet Township Public Library from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Learn the basics of surfing the Internet. An introductory program for adults. Cost $10. Please get your tickets in advance as space is limited.

  • BOOK CLUB meets at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the Wainfleet Township Public Library. This month's selection is The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith.
