Mayor appreciates Canal Days support
Letters
Aug 15, 2008
May I take this opportunity to express, on behalf of members of city council and all the citizens of the City of Port Colborne, our most sincere appreciation for the generous support of the 30th annual Canal Days celebration.

It truly takes the continued support of our residents, volunteers, sponsors, businesses, local organizations, city staff, emergency medical services and the Niagara Regional Police Service to showcase our community. Your commitment and dedication reinforces the partnerships required to continue to strengthen the character of the City of Port Colborne while enhancing the continued dynamic of community spirit we commit to for our future generations.

The city's marketing strategy continues to contribute to the overall image of the Niagara Region. While Niagara continues to be a world class destination, the City of Port Colborne contributes aggressive economic strategies while putting forward investment ready sites and strong anchor attractions.

The City of Port Colborne continues to be looked at as a small community with big things happening -- a community that is unique in the way we service our residents, businesses and our visitors. However, it takes a great deal of work to secure that reputation. To all of you that continue to give your time, effort and resources, take a bow -- you are the true heroes who have once again come to the plate to make it happen. I am extremely proud of our community. Together, we have once again, successfully hosted the world. Well done!

Vance Badawey

Mayor, City of Port Colborne
