Victorious Spirit team says thanks for the support

We completed our third 60-km Walk to End Breast Cancer on September 6 and 7 in Toronto and it was a great weekend once again. This year there were 4,757 participants and over $13 million dollars were raised for the Campbell Family Institute for Breast Cancer Research at the Princess Margaret Hospital. The weather was great on Saturday, but was quite wet and rainy on Sunday. The cheering stations and volunteers were incredible though, full of energy and enthusiasm, which really helped bring the spirits up when we were feeling wet and tired. We walked from 7:30 a.m. until about 4 p.m. with a few short breaks in between. It was a really nice time to pause and reflect on those loved ones we're walking for, Lisa's mom Vicky Martin, Laurie's grandmother Anne Didyk, and so many other women facing this disease. It was amazing to meet and talk to so many survivors of breast cancer who were out there walking as well, and to hear their stories. We also met lots of people who have stories about loved ones with breast cancer. There were others who just love to walk, wanted to take on the 60 km challenge and walk with a purpose, to contribute to ending breast cancer.

We'd like to thank everyone who encouraged us, and helped us raise $6,000 for our team, Victorious Spirit. A great big thanks to our sponsors, Runner's Den Grimsby, NRB, Physiotherapy Edge, Dave and Bonnie Seburn of Remax Del Mar Realty Inc,

E Compulab, Cibo Osteria e Cafe, Dr. Tony Varsalona and Dr. Meagan West, Laurie Southall and the youth of the Brandee Elliott Foundation. A very special thanks to our wonderful, supportive family and friends. We couldn't have done it without you.
