Council released the names of the four individuals who were chosen from the town to be on the public liaison committee at a Tuesday night meeting.

Wayne Redshaw, April Jeffs, Anne Hetherington and Ashleigh Miatello Skrubbletrang have been selected to represent the four members from Wainfleet who will work with up to four members from the rest of the Niagara region on the PLC.

The purpose of the PLC is to act as a go-between for the citizens of Wainfleet and Wainfleet Council regarding the issue of safe water in the town.

In 2005 the Niagara Region public health and public works departments, along with the Ministry of the Environment, found that many septic systems along the lakeshore have been failing, and issued a boil water advisory to be in place until a solution is in place. Residents in the area remain under a boil water advisory at this time.

The committee will be a liaison between the citizens and the town council and the region while determining a solution to the water problem.
