Golfers hit the links at Twenty Valley Golf and Country Club June 18 for the 10th annual Golf Classic fundraiser for West Niagara Second Stage Housing and Counselling.
Golf committee chair Sue Wetmore credited her committee for working diligently to ensure the fundraiser's success which last year raised $22,000. This year's proceeds are now being tallied.
Wetmore said special presentations were made at the tournament to recognize the personal and financial contributions of supporters including Betty and Harry Keus, Tim and Denise Voronoff, and Don Miller. "They have been our long term supporters from day one," Wetmore said.
Mixed team winners included Tim and Denise Voronoff, Rita and David Lee. Men's team winners were Don Miller, Marshall Deeth, Ryan Djordjevic and Tim Sluys. Ladies' team winners included Molly Simpson, Maureen Hobart, Sherry Christie and Kay Underhill.
Longest drive went to Derek Weatherton and Kathy Caswell. Closest to the pin winners were Allan Cam and Teresa Sutton.
Closest to the line were Joel Race and Kim Karry. The putting contest was a draw with the winner Steve Leistner.
