West Lincoln Community Care has kicked off ticket sales for the organization's second annual Murder-Mystery Fundraising Dinner.
Volunteers began selling tickets for the ever-popular event at a PoultryFest booth, Saturday. Last year's dinner raised nearly $10,000 for the Smithville food bank.
The dinner will be held at Smithville District Christian High school Saturday, October 18, beginning at 6 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres. Dinner will begin at 6:45. This year's theme will be 'Tropical Cruise' and 'boarding requirements' are casual cruise wear.
Tickets are $50, and include a donation receipt.
An elimination draw ticket, with a top prize of a $2,000 travel voucher, will also be drawn that evening at 9:30 p.m.
1,000 tickets have been printed, and will be available for $10 each. A monetary prize will be awarded for every 25th ticket, with a total prize value of $3,900.
New community care manager Garry Warden is also settling into his office in Industrial Park. He is available at the office every Tuesday, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., as well as Thursdays, from 2 to 6:30 p.m.
He is currently hoping to land "a few good recruits" to paint the facility, or help in sorting canned food donations from the community.
