Lincoln Park Retirement Community celebrated its grand re-opening in June.

On June 23, the 70-suite retirement home opened its doors with a ribbon cutting in honour of the new ownership by Specialty Living, a division of Specialty Care Inc. The company purchased the residence in January.

A family-owned company based in Toronto, Specialty Care Inc. operates retirement residences and long-term care homes across the province.

"We are particularly excited about introducing Specialty Living's signature service, Zest For Life, to Lincoln Park residents," said Paula Jourdain, CEO of Specialty Care Inc.

The program, she explains, aims to provide the residents with an array of programs and activities designed to support "mind, body and spirit".

Other initiatives are underway, including connecting with other health and business leaders to provide additional services for the resident seniors.

"One of the service gaps we identified was the need for enhanced short stay respite care following illness or surgery," said Debbie Doherty, Chief Operating Officer. "This new program called 'R & R' offers a beautifal home-like setting for rest and recuperation without worrying about daily chores such as meal preparation and housekeeping."
