This summer the YWCA Niagara Region has been experiencing higher than normal occupancy of women and children utilizing the emergency shelters located at King Street in St. Catharines and Culp Street in Niagara Falls.
This increase coupled with lower donations of food has depleted the food supplies in the kitchen.
Items needed right now include: tuna, canned tomatoes, pasta sauce, rice, pudding, coffee, tea, sugar, milk, jam, sliced bread, potatoes, vegetables, ground beef, chicken, ham, turkey, pork, canned soups and baking supplies such as baking powder, salt and flour.
The YWCA Niagara Region can be reached at 905-988-3528 ext. 243.
