Parent upset with FORT protocol

I am writing this letter to inform the people of Grimsby of an unfortunate but preventable incident that happened at a well-liked place for our teenagers to go to for relaxation, fun and to be at a supervised retreat.
I am talking about the teen drop-in centre, better known as The FORT. My son and his friends went to the centre on Wednesday, Sept. 24 to be together and to share their feelings after the tragic loss of life of their friend which most of us know happened in Grimsby last weekend.
After they arrived there, they were accosted by the SIU investigators and questioned behind closed doors using the FORT's supervisor's office as an interrogation room.
First of all, these kids are minors and should have a parent or legal representation present when being asked questions about a possible criminal event.
Second, The FORT should have never, ever, let these people use their office for this reason. The kids that were subject to this interrogation were totally unsuspecting to the fact that this could happen at their retreat.
They were all terribly upset mentally, when the same questions were raised over and over again. My son was questioned at our home already on the early morning of the tragic death of his friend.
The board of directors at The FORT should immediately resign and new people should be put in their place. The supervisor that was in place that night should also relinquish their position ASAP.
The FORT does some tremendous work for our kids, but this incident will now cause second guessing as to whether this is a safe haven for our youth to go to without worrying about lurking organizations using the premises as their personal offices.
