The local community needs residents to add their voices to volunteerism in Lincoln.
"Volunteers are the lifeblood of Lincoln," says Judy Pease, director of Community Services for Town of Lincoln.
"But volunteer organizations tell me it is becoming increasingly difficult to find residents to fill this important role."
The growing concern from Lincoln's volunteer-based organizations has led Pease to request Council to fund a study of the future of volunteerism in Lincoln, culminating in a volunteer forum, Nov. 22.
Pease said Council was quick to support the project. "They saw how a survey of organizations, followed by a community forum will let the Town and volunteer organizations review how they can support one another to meet volunteerism challenges."
Step one is a survey of volunteer organizations and Pease has designed the content from their perspective. "The on-line survey is short and easy to complete. I am hoping we have close to a 100 per cent completion rate. The more we know, the better the forum will be," Pease said.
The survey is available at http://academicagroup.com/surveys/id174 and is open to every organization that serves the residents of Lincoln.
