Owners to blame when dogs go bad

I would like to say how sorry I feel for Danny and Mario Deluca and the loss of their dog Gnocchi. It is a shame that some dog owners are so irresponsible that they don't care about the public's safety. It upsets me to think about how these dogs must have been treated to have such nasty dispositions. I hope that these dogs are put to sleep and that these owners are held responsible for their dogs' behaviour. After all it is not the dogs but the owners who are to blame. I hope that the owners are not allowed to get another dog in the future, 10 years is a good start but forever would be better.
I also want bring attention to the fact that these dogs were NOT PIT BULLS. It is interesting that the headlines do not mention what breed these vicious dogs are, if they had been pit bulls I am sure this would have been printed in bold and the story would have been given attention as far as Toronto and Buffalo. This is a very important point as pit bulls are all too often accused of being the most dangerous dogs. This case proves that any dog is capable of being dangerous and aggressive, irresponsible owners are the problem. So the next time people want to discuss "dangerous dogs" they should remember this story and remember that the dogs in question were NOT PIT BULLS.
I wish the Delucas the best of luck in their fight for justice for Gnocchi. I look forward to reading that the irresponsible dog owners are held responsible for the behaviour of their dogs.
